AI Breakfast Briefing: Interpreting the EU AI Act for Industry

13th October 2023 9am – 11am

The European Union is currently discussing adopting the AI Act, the world’s first comprehensive AI regulation. Regulation of AI will have implications for business across many domains.

This event, run by the SFI ADAPT Centre in partnership with IDA Ireland, brings together leading AI policy and data governance researchers who will interpret the AI Act and shed light on the implications for industry. This event also forms part of EMPOWER Data Governance, a €10 million EU funded research programme focused on Data Platforms, Data Governance and Ecosystems.

The event will feature talks, discussion and networking opportunities and cover a range of areas including:

  • What is the industry’s role in clarifying and making sense of the regulation
  • How to assess the risk of using AI, Large Language Models, and Generative AI
  • AI standardisation and privacy
  • Ethics
  • Why these areas need research and how this can add value for the organisation
