Trinity College Dublin received the award for Academic Collaboration with Industry at the InBusiness Magazine annual awards recently in Dublin.  The University’s work with industry stakeholders and agencies, sharing infrastructure, expertise and tackling industry-relevant research challenges has led to collaborations with multinational companies such as Intel and Huawei Technologies.  A large part of this work is driven by the SFI research centres that are headquartered in Trinity – ADAPT, AMBER and CONNECT.

Over the last five years, Trinity has created over 38 capus companies across a range of sectors such as medical devices, pharmaceutical and ICT.  For its part, the ADAPT Centre has collaborated with over a hundred industries from a wide variety of sectors to tackle challenges in the digital content space.  Plans to expand on the strong relationships with industry will see the University focus on strategic partnerships with companies leading the charge in innovation.

The InBusiness Recognition Awards 2018 were held in the Westin Hotel in Dublin.  They aim to honour and celebrate success, achievement and ambition within Irish business and to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of individuals to grow business in the country.
