From the 8th to the 10 December last year, the TRANSMIXR project took part in UnitedXR Europe in Brussels, a leading event for the extended reality (XR) sector, bringing together more than 2,000 professionals, 120 exhibitors, and 125 industry leaders from across Europe.
Led by Dr. Niall Murray of Technological University of the Shannon and the ADAPT Centre, TRANSMIXR is developing AI- and Social XR-driven tools to support sectors including news media, broadcasting, performing arts, and cultural heritage. The project focuses on new ways to analyse large-scale media content and deliver immersive, next-generation experiences.
UnitedXR Europe marked a key milestone in TRANSMIXR’s final year. The project was presented during the “Meet the EU-Funded Projects” session, highlighting its contribution to human-centric and inclusive XR and AI technologies alongside other European initiatives. TRANSMIXR also featured in the Scientific Track with a dedicated panel exploring new AI- and Social XR-based workflows for the cultural and creative sectors.
A highlight of the event was the panel discussion “Reimagining workflows to create XR experiences in the creative and cultural sector,” bringing together experts from journalism, archives, broadcasting, research, and artistic practice to discuss real-world challenges and production approaches aligned with the project’s core use cases.
More information about the project is available on the TRANSMIXR website.
