The EDGE postdoctoral programme, run by ADAPT, AMBER and CONNECT SFI Research Centres, has been shortlisted for the 2019 Education Award in the Engineering Ireland Excellence Awards. Five initiatives which aim to inspire and develop Ireland’s future engineering talent at third level have been shortlisted in the category which is sponsored by Accenture.
EDGE commenced in 2016 and over five years will employ 71 world-class ICT researchers. EDGE is supporting research at the interface of three strategically important areas of ICT: advanced materials, telecommunications networks and digital content technology. Expertise in these fields is particularly attractive to employers and EDGE will strengthen Ireland’s ability to create and attract high quality jobs. EDGE received €6 million in Horizon 2020 EU funding.
The winner will be announced on the 15th November.
