After two years of advancing blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT) standardisation, the European funded project SEEBLOCKS.eu project will hold its concluding event tomorrow, April 10th, in Brussels showcasing its achievements and outlining future directions for blockchain in Europe. The ADAPT Research Ireland Centre at Dublin City University (DCU) is a key partner in the project, playing a central role in shaping the European roadmap for blockchain and DLT adoption.. The event will be hosted at Rue Ravenstein 60 in Brussels, with opportunities for remote participation online.
Blockchain technologies, increasingly central to Europe’s digital economy, have been significantly shaped by SEEBLOCKS.eu’s standardisation efforts, influencing regulatory frameworks and policy directions across the continent. This event will bring together a broad range of stakeholders, including EU policymakers, industry leaders, technology experts, and academics, to reflect on Europe’s evolving role in global blockchain standardisation and regulation.
The day’s agenda includes prominent keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive sessions showcasing the work of SEEBLOCKS funded standardisation experts. There will be a focus on critical issues such as regulation, smart contracts, sustainability in blockchain, security, trustworthy technology and global standardisation trends. A particular highlight will be the demonstration of the SEEBLOCKS.eu Blockchain Standards Visualisation Tool and accompanying Training Course, two practical resources designed to assist professionals in navigating the evolving blockchain landscape.
The event concludes with the SEEBLOCKS.eu Awards Ceremony, honouring key European experts whose impactful standardisation work was supported by SEEBLOCKS funding. These awards celebrate excellence in advancing technical and policy standards across the blockchain ecosystem.
