On 21 May 2026, the JRC FreshMinds initiative, in collaboration with the ADAPT Research Ireland Centre for Digital Content Technology, hosted Emerging Multidisciplinary Computing Visions: Early-Career Researchers Shaping Shared Futures at the 19th International Conference on Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP.ai) in Brussels.
The workshop brought together five early-career researchers and approximately 20 attendees for a series of interactive sessions focused on research feedback, networking and career development.
Participants had the opportunity to present their work, exchange ideas with peers and senior experts, and discuss shared challenges facing researchers at the early stages of their careers.
Building on CPDP.ai’s tradition of interdisciplinary engagement, the workshop created a space for researchers, academics and practitioners from STEAM, policy, legal and advocacy communities to connect and share perspectives.
The event highlighted the importance of collaboration and cross-disciplinary dialogue in supporting the next generation of researchers and shaping shared futures in computing.
