Dr Dara Meldrum and Vertigenius Featured in Business Plus

Dr Dara Meldrum of Trinity College Dublin’s School of Medicine and the ADAPT Centre has been featured in Business Plus for her work on Vertigenius™, an innovative medtech company transforming the treatment of dizziness, vertigo and balance disorders.

A recognised expert in vestibular and neurological rehabilitation, Dr Meldrum has spent more than 20 years researching balance disorders, neurorehabilitation and the use of digital technologies in healthcare. Her work has contributed to significant advances in the treatment of patients experiencing vestibular and balance impairments.

Building on this research, Dr Meldrum founded Vertigenius™, an ADAPT and Trinity College Dublin-linked company that combines wearable sensor technology, digital therapeutics and remote patient monitoring to enhance vestibular rehabilitation. Developed from clinical and technological insights generated through her academic research, the platform has attracted significant investment and is expanding internationally.

Dr Meldrum’s success highlights the growing role of research commercialisation in universities, demonstrating how academic discoveries can be translated into innovative healthcare solutions with real-world impact. Her achievements have also been recognised with the Trinity Innovation Campus Company Founder Award, celebrating academics who successfully create high-potential spin-out companies from university research.
