29 August 2025

Dr. Esther Murphy, (TCD School of Engineering/ADAPT) founder of DigiAcademy, recently presented at Edge Hill University’s Improving Life Chances and Making Hope Possible Through Education conference, hosted by the Faculty of Education. Contributing to the ‘Transformative Education’ session, Dr. Murphy shared DigiAcademy’s European co-design research and the development of its citizen advisory panels for the development of DigiAcademy’s accessible digital and work-ready skills platform.

She also had the opportunity to share powerful video stories from their digital skills teachers, highlighting educational topics aimed at improving digital literacy and employability for people with intellectual disabilities.

The conference marked the launch of a new inclusive education title from Routledge: Championing Co-Production in the Design of Inclusive Practices: Positioning Children and Young People’s Voices at the Heart of Education, co-edited by Dr. Clare Woolhouse and  Dr.Virginia Kay. DigiAcademy’s co-design methodology and peer-led teaching case studies from Ireland and Croatia are featured in the book.
