The AI Accountability Lab (AIAL), an ADAPT and Trinity College Dublin research initiative, is currently being featured in a public exhibition outside the Eavan Boland Library as part of activities highlighting Ireland’s EU Presidency.
Founded and led by Dr Abeba Birhane, the AI Accountability Lab examines AI technologies and their societal impacts, with a focus on strengthening accountability across the AI ecosystem, from research and product development to governance and regulation.
The lab’s research seeks to ensure that AI systems and policies serve the public interest, placing particular emphasis on the experiences and needs of marginalised and underrepresented communities.
