Details: Date & Time: Thursday, 13 November 2025, 14:00-16:00 Venue: Greenhills Hotel, Ennis Rd, Knock, Limerick, V94 X2RV.
The Age-Friendly AI initiative is inviting residents of Limerick to a public discussion on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its role in the lives of older adults. The event forms part of the Age-Friendly AI initiative, which is funded by Research Ireland’s Discover Programme. The two-year programme will engage more than 60,000 older people across Ireland to encourage them to engage confidently with AI technology and hear their voices to work towards a more inclusive future of AI.
The Mayor of Limerick’s Office will be represented at the event and deliver an opening speech at 14.10, underscoring the city’s commitment to digital inclusion and the relevance of co-creating technology in order for everyone to take part in the increasingly digital society. This participation highlights the important collaboration between local government and initiatives such as the Age-Friendly AI initiative.
The nationwide campaign includes Citizen Think-Ins, Co-Creation Workshops and public participation events, broaching topics such as data privacy and misinformation. The information shared at these events will directly inform a national Roadshow of AI Literacy Training that will be rolled out in 2026.
