Age-Friendly AI Shortlisted for 2026 Media Literacy Ireland Award

20 October 2026

Age-Friendly AI: Ireland’s National Artificial Intelligence Literacy Initiative for Older Adults has been shortlisted for a 2026 Media Literacy Ireland (MLI) Award in the category of Best Media Literacy Initiative for Older People.

Funded by the Research Ireland Discover Programme and led by TU Dublin and the ADAPT Research Ireland Centre, the initiative aims to ensure older adults are included and empowered as artificial intelligence becomes an increasingly prominent part of everyday life.

The MLI Awards recognise outstanding initiatives that help people across Ireland access, understand and critically engage with media and technology. Through collaboration, open public dialogue and co-created AI literacy training, Age-Friendly AI is raising awareness of AI’s impact on older people, building confidence to participate in public discussions and ensuring their voices are heard in conversations shaping the future of AI.

The shortlist recognition reflects the collective efforts of the initiative’s participants, project partners, funders, libraries, volunteers, researchers and community groups.

Winners will be announced at the MLI Awards ceremony on the 11th November 2026. Learn more about this news here.
