Professor Dave Lewis, Head of Research at the ADAPT Centre, took part in a high-level panel on Artificial Intelligence during the CDBA Research Day hosted recently by Trinity Business School’s Centre for Digital and Business Analytics (CDBA).
The event, themed “Navigating Digital Businesses and AI”, brought together leaders from academia and industry to explore the rapidly evolving intersection of business, data analytics, and digital technologies. The day featured a programme of research presentations, expert discussions, and networking opportunities designed to deepen collaboration between scholars and practitioners in the digital economy.
As a panelist on the AI session, Prof. Lewis shared insights from ADAPT’s cutting-edge research in trustworthy and responsible AI, data governance, and human-centric digital transformation. Drawing on ADAPT’s cross-disciplinary research, he spoke about the importance of aligning AI innovation with ethical standards, regulatory frameworks, and real-world business needs.
“It’s not just about accelerating what AI can do,” Prof. Lewis noted during the session, “but about ensuring it does so in ways that support transparency, accountability, and societal benefit.”
CDBA Research Day showcased a wide array of research projects that span from emerging data technologies to digital platform innovation and AI-driven decision-making. As digital transformation continues to reshape sectors across Ireland and globally, events like this help foster the academic-industry partnerships needed to guide that transformation responsibly.
