The 2025 Awards for Excellence in Research Supervision took place on the 5th September at the Provost’s House, Trinity College Dublin. Hosted by Provost Dr Linda Doyle and Dean of Graduate Studies Prof Martine Smith, the event recognised the critical role research supervisors play in guiding and supporting future scholars.
One of this year’s awardees was Professor Owen Conlan of the ADAPT Centre and Trinity’s School of Computer Science and Statistics. Owen, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Discipline and Co-Director of the Trinity Centre for Digital Humanities, is a leading researcher in AI and personalisation. He has published more than 220 papers with over 3,800 citations and is recognised for his pioneering creative approaches to personalisation and for empowering users to better understand and interact with complex knowledge and media.
The awards highlighted the commitment and expertise supervisors bring to their students and to Trinity’s research community.
