ADAPT Hosts Research Impact Workshop in Bratislava

30 October 2026

On the 20th October, the ADAPT Centre’s Education and Public Engagement (EPE) team, led by Dr Emma Clarke and Dr Cara Greene, delivered a hands-on training workshop at the KInIT offices in Bratislava.

The one-day workshop focused on practical approaches to planning and delivering impactful research engagement, helping participants understand how to demonstrate research impact in funding proposals and develop effective engagement strategies.

The morning session featured a case study of the award-winning #DiscussAI initiative, Ireland’s National Conversation around AI, highlighting key elements of successful public engagement. Participants then explored how to identify relevant impact pathways aligned with their own research agendas and organisational priorities.

In the afternoon, an interactive session introduced logic models as a practical tool for connecting research activities with intended outcomes. Participants worked through the different elements of a logic model and developed their own templates to support the planning and delivery of future research engagement projects.

The training provided participants with practical tools and approaches to strengthen stakeholder partnerships, plan meaningful engagement and maximise the impact of their research.
