ADAPT Director Prof John Kelleher delivers lecture on legal applications of GenAI at Law Society Technology Conference

The Law Society’s Technology Committee hosted its annual conference on Wednesday, 26th November at Blackhall Place, Dublin, with a sharp focus on how artificial intelligence is reshaping legal practice. The half-day event, run by the Law Society Professional Training committee examined the legal, ethical, regulatory, cyber-security, and accessibility issues tied to emerging AI tools.

ADAPT Director Prof. John Kelleher delivered  the opening keynote entitled Generative AI Essentials for Legal Professionals. The talk introduced the concept of language models, explained how they are trained and how they generate content, and overviewed some of the key risks and challenges associated with this technology.  The goal of the talk was to introduce the key concepts of Generative AI with the goal of setting the stage for the later panel discussions.
