ADAPT academic presents paper on AI ethics at the IEEE International Symposium on Technology and Society

ADAPT academic Dr. P.J. Wall (Adjunct Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin and Lecturer at Technological University Dublin) recently presented a paper at the IEEE International Symposium on Technology and Society (ISTAS 2023) which took place in Swansea University, Wales. The paper, titled “A Critical Realist Based Approach to AI Ethics”, focusses on the theoretical framing of AI ethics. Co-authors of the research paper included Prof. Dave Lewis (Interim ADAPT Director, Trinity College Dublin) and Deepak Saxena (Indian Institute of Technology, Jodphur). 

ISTAS 2023 took place from the 13th – 15th September 2023 with Dr. Wall presenting this research paper on the 14th September. ISTAS is a multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary forum for engineers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, philosophers, researchers, social scientists, and technologists to collaborate, exchange experiences, and discuss the social implications of technology.
