ADAPT and Trinity Research was delighted to host a delegation from the Danish Association of Research Managers and Administrators (DARMA) on Thursday 27th November, as part of the group’s study tour to Ireland.
The delegation of 12 colleagues from four Danish universities, the University of Southern Denmark, University College Copenhagen, Roskilde University and the IT University (ITU) of Copenhagen, spent the day exploring the theme “Research Lifecycle Management in a Changing Landscape: Looking Ahead” together with Trinity staff. The visit formed part of a five-day wider programme of meetings in Ireland.
At Trinity, staff from across the University joined three thematic open sessions featuring lightning talks by Danish RMAs and Trinity colleagues. The delegation kicked-off their day at the ADAPT Centre, where they received an overview of ADAPT’s work in AI-driven digital content technologies and the Centre’s research development systems.
A mid-morning session focused on factors shaping research development in both Ireland and Denmark, from the challenges and opportunities of a hybrid model, to changes and trends in the research landscape.
The afternoon turned to research management and was opened by the Dean of Research, Professor Sinéad Ryan, followed by talks from Trinity and Danish colleagues sharing knowledge on research management systems, resources, and tools. Following the visit, Director of Research, Dr. Sally Smith, said:
“Trinity College Dublin was delighted to host the DARMA delegation. This visit provided an invaluable opportunity to share insights, exchange best practices, and strengthen partnerships that advance discovery and impact”.
Trinity Research extends sincere thanks to all contributors, attendees and colleagues who supported the day’s programme.
Dr. Ger Hickey introduces the delegation to the work of ADAPT, the Research Ireland Centre for AI-driven Digital Content Technology at the beginning of a session exploring AI and Research Management.
