ADAPT Researcher Wins Best Presentation Award at CRCI 2025

19 December 2025

ADAPT researcher Haula Sani Galadima has won the Best Presentation Award at the IEEE Cyber Research Conference Ireland (CRCI 2025) for her work on improving organisational cyber incident response.

Haula presented her research, “Semantic Log Aggregation for a Machine-Readable Knowledge Base of Incident Response Activities”, which introduces a prototype that integrates incident response (IR) process log data from multiple tools into a single machine-readable knowledge base. The approach is designed to strengthen organisational learning and improve cyber resilience by addressing long-standing gaps in automation and knowledge management.

The award recognises confident delivery, strong audience engagement, and the clear communication of complex technical ideas which are areas in which Haula’s presentation stood out. The research was carried out under the supervision of Dr Rob Brennan and Cormac Doherty and builds on findings from a prior real-world CSIRT evaluation conducted by the team.

CRCI brings together researchers from academia, industry, research centres, companies, and public authorities across Ireland to showcase and advance cybersecurity research.
