ADAPT at Maynooth University’s Dr. Mansoor Ahmed to Guest Edit Special Issue on Blockchain, AI, and Secure Distributed Systems

31 March 2026

Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, an ADAPT Academic Collaborator at Maynooth University, has been appointed Guest Editor for a forthcoming Special Issue of the journal Algorithms titled “Algorithmic Foundations for Blockchain-Enabled AI, Data Governance, and Secure Distributed Systems”.

The issue will explore the rapidly evolving intersection of artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, and data governance, with a focus on developing secure, trustworthy, and scalable distributed systems. As these fields continue to converge, the need for robust algorithmic frameworks that support privacy, transparency, regulatory compliance, and system resilience is becoming increasingly critical.

Researchers are invited to submit high-quality contributions on topics including blockchain-enabled AI, privacy-preserving data governance, secure distributed architectures, and algorithmic approaches to trust and compliance, including regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and the AI Act. Applications across sectors such as digital health, finance, and public services are also encouraged.

The submission deadline for this Special Issue is 31 December 2026.
