ADAPT and the Learnovate Centre recently joined forces to welcome a group of 12 Italian students to Trinity College Dublin as part of an international programme focused on technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The students, aged 17–19, were visiting Ireland to study English through AI and innovation, as part of a programme delivered in partnership with Erin College. During their visit, they engaged with leading researchers and innovation practitioners to gain insight into how research, policy and enterprise intersect in Ireland’s innovation ecosystem.
At Learnovate, Eric Paquin, Head of Research, Innovation and Technology, introduced the Learnovate innovation and research model, outlining how collaborative research supports industry-driven innovation. Dr Delaram Golpayegani from ADAPT at Trinity College Dublin showcased her research on the EU AI Act and AI governance, offering the students a valuable perspective on the policy and ethical frameworks shaping AI development in Europe.
The group also visited Trinity’s new Innovation Hub, before returning to Learnovate for an informal discussion on innovation processes and pathways from research to real-world impact.
