Praveen Acharya is a Ph.D. student in the School of Computing at Dublin City University where he is supervised by Professor Gareth J.F. Jones. His area of research is broadly in Natural Language Processing with a focus on natural language understanding and information retrieval. Praveen holds an M.Eng. in Computer Engineering from Kathmandu University (Nepal) and a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Calicut (India). His master’s thesis focused on Statistical and Neural Machine translation for under-resourced language pairs. Praveen also has industry experience working as a Machine Learning Engineer/Project Developer wherein he worked in healthcare workflow automation in US Healthcare Industry by developing and integrating machine learning pipelines for document classification and information extraction.
