Dr Pamela Hussey has a background in nursing and has been working on system design and development for health and social care for over 20 years. She is the national chair for the Health Informatics Standards Consortium in NSAI and currently Director of a dedicated Center to advance integrated care delivery in Ireland see https://www.dcu.ie/ceic.
Currently Pamela is engaged in three SFI Research Centers on funded projects that relate to health informatics research and standards development. As the Director of the CeIC, Pamela uses Open Innovation 2.0 methods to collaborate with a number of industry partners on global policy relating to pateint centered integrated care. She is editor of two core texts on nursing informatics and has published a number of peer reviewed papers and chapters on the role of nursing in patient centred system design. Current research includes the Elite S Marie Curie programme wiht industry partner Davra. Dr Hussey also has worked with the HSE as a PI on a public procurement tender for information modelling and terminology. She is currently engaged with NSAI on the National Top Teams Commitee for AI for health and social care and sits on the editorial committee for ICNP.
