Monja Jannet is a PhD student at the ADAPT Centre and the School of Applied Language & Intercultural Studies (SALIS) at Dublin City University. Her research is in the area of translation technology with a focus on ethics and multilingual communication using generative AI. She holds an MA in Specialised Translation and a BA in Multilingual Communication from the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, Germany. Her master’s thesis focused on sociological and ethical issues of neural machine translations on a linguistic level, looking at typical linguistic features of raw and post-edited machine translation output.
