Mark Scanlon

Funded Investigator

Mark Scanlon is an Associate Professor in University College Dublin’s School of Computer Science, a Funded Investigator with the ADAPT centre and Director of the UCD Forensics and Security Research Group. He is a Fulbright Scholar in Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Investigation. His research interests include the application of artifical intelligence techniques to digital forensics and cybersecurity, generative AI, forensic readiness, automated code generation and validation and computer vision. He is a Senior Editor for Elsevier’s Forensic Science International: Digital Investigation journal, and is a keen reviewer and conference organiser in the field. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Digital Forensics Research Workshop Inc. (DFRWS), a US 501(c) non-profit organisation responsible for defining and advancing the field of digital forensic science.
