Dr Katsiaryna Bahamazava is a Research Fellow in the School of Computer Science at University College Dublin. She brings interdisciplinary expertise in applied mathematics, economics, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on developing fair, transparent, and socially impactful AI systems. During her Ph.D. in Comparative Analysis of Institutions, Economics, and Law, she investigated the economic implications of emerging technologies in illicit markets, applying machine-learning methods such as natural language processing and sentiment analysis. Her research encompasses geospatial data integration, fairness in AI-driven healthcare models, digital heritage applications, sustainable transport, and blockchain-based solutions for cross-border fraud detection. Previously, at Italian universities, she taught Linear Algebra and Geometry and delivered postgraduate modules on AI for ESG goals. She is passionate about making complex technologies accessible for the public good.
