John holds a degree and PhD in Computational Linguistics and a certificate in Leadership and Management. He is passionate about minority languages and the Irish language. After his PhD John worked in industry for a time developing various text mining applications and working as a language technology consultant. He joined the Centre to work managing and driving our engagement in European research programmes. John brings over 15 years’ experience in this area to ADAPT. Currently he leads a team of research support professionals that make up the Research Development Team, whose brief it is to drive opportunities for further research in ADAPT through collaborative international research programmes. John has extensive experience in all aspects of research project lifecycle, financial management and reporting as well as strategic planning and research profiling.
