Dr. Sourav Sur is a Post-doctoral Researcher at University College Dublin (UCD), working on an interdisciplinary project on Digital Twins. The project aims to to develop Digital Twin Ecosystem in Dublin to support data-informed planning, help to develop people-centered infrastructure systems and engage with citizens. This project is co-funded by the ADAPT Research Centre and the Smart City unit in Dublin City Council (DCC).
He earned his PhD in Sustainable Transportation Planning from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, where his research focused on developing a sustainable management system for the transportation of temporary infrastructure using spatial planning and statistical analysis.
His research interests lie at the intersection of smart city development, active travel and urban sustainability, with a focus on trialing and testing various datasets using digital technologies such as gaming engines and ArcGIS to improve city planning and infrastructure management.
