The results of the ADAPT collaboration with Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) has resulted in a poster being accepted for the 15th International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC2016) that will take place in Kobe, Japan this October. The poster, entitled ‘Serving Ireland’s Geospatial Information as Linked Data’, was authored by Christophe Debruyne (ADAPT), Éamonn Clinton (OSi), Lorraine McNerney (OSi), Atul Nautiyal (ADAPT), and Declan O’Sullivan (ADAPT).

In this paper the authors present data.geohive.ie, which aims to serve Ireland’s national geospatial data as authoritative Linked Data. Currently, the platform provides information on Irish administrative boundaries and the platform was designed to support two use cases: serving boundary data of geographic features at various level of detail and capturing the evolution of administrative boundaries. The paper reports on the decisions taken for modeling and serving the information such as the adoption of an appropriate URI strategy, the development of necessary ontologies, and the use of (named) graphs to support the aforementioned use cases.
