Applications are invited for the position of Research Assistant with an entry level background in Full Stack Development , with solid demonstrated experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, NoSQL, Nodejs and broad experience in system design and architecture.Experience working with Unity and C# is desirable.
This position involves working on the neureka mobile application (http://www.neureka.ie/) as part of this Science Foundation Ireland funded research project. Neureka has 19,000 registered users and its goal is to facilitate a connection between scientists and the public, scaling-up research in brain health, developing tools to identify at-risk individuals and educating the public about science. The researcher will join the laboratory of Associate Professor, Dr. Claire Gillan (www.gillanlab.com).
Working with a team of research scientists and another app developer on this project, the core responsibility of the Research Assistant will be to optimize and maintain the app’s web servers.
In addition, the researcher will, in time, support the senior developer in the development of new modules within the app, front end game design, app maintenance and the collection of phone sensor data from citizen scientist users.
They will be an integral member of the research team, working directly with research students and postdoctoral scientists to transform experiments into games in the app. The researcher assistant will have the opportunity to contribute to analysis, and data validation and will be listed as a co-author on publications based on their work.
