As an ADAPT funded PhD researcher you will have access to a network of 85 global experts and over 250 staff as well as a wide multi-disciplinary ecosystem across 8 leading Irish universities. We can influence and inform your work, share our networks and collaborate with you to increase your impact, and accelerate your career opportunities. Specifically we offer:
Adding Personality Features to Open-Domain Dialog: The research will involve improving state-of-the-art in open-domain dialogue systems by increasing the capability of chatbots to communicate in a more human-like manner by introducing human personality features. The work will enable a chatbot to have realistic personas with personality traits, likes and dislikes, similar to those of a human chat partner. Implementing personalities in chatbots will enable the chatbot to participate in open domain dialogues with human partners in an entertaining, coherent and more personable way than previously possible. The work will involve application of reinforcement learning to this challenging problem as well as development of new evaluation methods to accurately measure personality traits.
As part of your application you will be required to submit via https://forms.gle/Zdcj432pC51fAHww5
